What Are You Worth?
People are not valued equally.
A lot of my training revolves around understanding the value you bring. When people understand the value they bring, it can both lift confidence and highlight areas they need to work on.
To be clear, I am not coming from a spiritual perspective. From a spiritual perspective, all humans have worth. Understanding your worth in a spiritual sense is transformative and life-changing, but that is not the focus of this blog.
Commercially, some people command minimum wage; others, $100/hr; some, $500/hr; and others, $1,000+/hr. Some people earn $100,000, and some earn over one million an hour. If you have ever wondered how you could earn more, the good news is that the answer is simple.
Add value. People pay for value.
Many people are stuck exchanging money for time. This formula works up to a point. Everything changes when a business or person understands that it is not really time and activity that are being paid for—people pay for energy and results.
What energy do you bring to your clients? What results do you help them achieve?
Are you at the top of your industry? If not, what can you learn from those who lead the industry?
What do your customers want more of? What change or innovation would they value?
Could you be quicker, more efficient, more luxurious, simpler, bolder, easier, friendlier? Pick any suitable adverb or adjective, and challenge yourself and your team to improve by 10–20–30%. Who knows? You could be handsomely rewarded by the market by adding value in new ways!
